Our Development scheme Plans & Update
At the moment the Association has a number of new projects either recently completed, on site or on the drawing board for the near future.
Ongoing Developments
These projects are mainly in Angus although we are also involved to a smaller extent in Dundee.
Forfar
At the end of the year we completed our development at Kirkton Park off South Street. All 18 houses and flats in this new development are fully occupied.
At Suttieside Road work is now well advanced. We are building 16 semi-detached and terraced villas with an anticipated completion in August 2008.
These houses are unique in that they are built on the former Dundee to Forfar railway line!
Some months ago we purchased and subsequently demolished the former hospital in Arbroath Road Forfar. The beginning of the year saw the start of the homes being built. These include a number of bungalows for the elderly and 2 bungalows specifically for wheelchair users.
The rest of our homes are for general family use. The southerly aspect of the site has been sold to Scotia Homes who will be building homes for private sale.
Carnoustie
Our association with Carnoustie continues to grow with two projects on site and detailed plans to increase this in the near future.
At Ferrier Street/Dundee Street we have 10 flats approaching completion and the final 2 terraced homes for sale through our Homestake scheme.
This work is part of a joint venture with DJ Laing Homes who are also constructing the units. This phase of the venture should complete early summer 2008.
Further along the road at the site of the former Heath Centre, 17 flats and houses are being built which will include a house suitable for a wheelchair user.
The first tenants should be in their new homes in September 2008.
Further rented and low cost new build homes in the town are likely to be announced in the coming months.
Kirriemuir
Our site at Shielhill Road in Kirriemuir is fast approaching completion.
In total there are 14 semi-detached houses 2 of which are fully wheelchair compliant. The houses should be available for occupation late July 2008.
Letham
As part of a larger project involving private housing we will shortly start on site with Scotia Homes to build 6 two and three bedroom houses at East Hemming Street, Letham.
All going well the units will be starting in June 2008.
