We are Planning to Move to a New Single Headquarters

You may have seen in the press that we have recently announced plans to move to a new single headquarters at Ethiebeaton Park in Angus, marking a significant step forward in our long-term development and commitment to the local area.

The move will bring together our teams currently based in the High Street, Arbroath and Ormiston Crescent, Dundee into one modern, accessible office, designed to support improved collaboration, efficiency and service delivery for tenants across Angus and Dundee.

The Association intends to buy the restaurant wing of the former Premier Inn in Monifieth to develop our new headquarters. A change of use planning application has been submitted to Angus Council.

Gail Robertson, AHA Chief Executive, said: After a long search for a suitable site, we now have the opportunity to bring our teams together in one place. Due to continued growth in our stock and staffing, we have now outgrown the space available in Arbroath and Dundee. This will improve services for tenants and enable colleagues to work more efficiently together in a modern, accessible office space.

“This is a significant step forward in our plans to grow the association and demonstrates our continued commitment to the local area and the communities we serve.”

Post-pandemic changes in working patterns have seen reduced footfall in our office buildings. Our tenant satisfaction survey conducted last year found that 79% of tenants prefer to contact the Association by phone, reflecting changing customer behaviours.

By creating a single headquarters, we aim to ensure best value for our tenants which will include continuing to deliver high-quality face-to-face customer and landlord services.

We will be retaining our building in Ormiston Crescent, Dundee, where we will continue to provide our caretaking service from the office, deliver face-to-face appointments and carry out tenant engagement. The community lounge will continue to be used by AHA along with other local support and community organisations. In Arbroath, we will also be retaining our Russell Square facility for meetings, community use, and delivering face-to-face tenant support services.

We expect that if the project progresses, we would be relocating sometime in 2027.

We will be providing more information to you as the project moves forward, through regular updates on Facebook, our official website, and tenants’ newsletters.
